Suede, in Spring? Actually groundbreaking.
Firstly, if you get that reference we are immediately friends.
Suede Is Still Showing Up This Spring — And We’re Here For It.
When most people think of suede, they picture it in the colder months — layered up with chunky knits and scarves, or paired with dark denim on crisp autumn days. But if you’ve been paying attention lately, you’ll notice that suede isn’t going anywhere just yet. In fact, it’s still showing up this spring, and I’m fully here for it.
For me, nothing quite beats a brown suede jacket. It’s one of those pieces that quietly earns its place in your wardrobe season after season. There’s a timelessness to it — part retro, part rock ‘n’ roll — and every time I wear mine, I’m reminded why it’s such a staple. Whether it’s a biker style, a clean-cut bomber, or a relaxed overshirt, there’s something about the texture and richness of suede that instantly makes a look feel pulled together.
So why does it still work in spring? For me, it’s all about balance. While suede naturally feels luxurious and substantial, other shades of brown and tan soften its look, making it perfect for those transitional months. I love throwing mine over a white tee, mini skirt and boots or pairing it with linen trousers on a cooler spring evening. It brings just enough structure to an outfit without feeling too heavy or out of place.
What I’ve realised is that a brown suede jacket is one of the most versatile things you can own. It carries you through winter layered over knits and then steps effortlessly into spring with lighter pieces underneath. I’ve dressed mine up with tailored trousers and loafers, and equally worn it down with worn-in denim and sneakers — either way, it adds a bit of texture and character to whatever I’m wearing.
The key for me is choosing the right style for the season. I stick to mid-weight or unlined suede jackets in spring, leaning towards camel, cognac, and lighter brown tones. Even adding a suede loafer or a crossbody bag can be a subtle way to keep the look going without diving in headfirst.
So if you were thinking about packing away your suede for the year, I’d say hold onto it a little longer. This spring, suede isn’t just sticking around — it’s standing out.
